Kiera Lloyd, NI Bureau Director is the Counsellor for China for the Northern Ireland Bureau, based at the British Embassy and representing the devolved government of the Northern Ireland Executive.
Kiera has been working in Northern Ireland Civil Service for 18 years. Prior to taking her role in China, Kiera has worked in the Department of Agriculture, the First and Deputy First Minister’s Office, Northern Ireland Prison Service, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Health.
Kiera has a Law Degree from the University of Newcastle and a Master’s Degree in Law from Queens University Belfast.
Jia Na, Deputy Director and Operations Manager for the Northern Ireland Bureau, is a native of Beijing and has an undergraduate Degree in Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration. Prior to joining the Bureau Jia Na worked in the UK embassy as Human Resources Manager for over four year and before that, she worked in the US embassy in Beijing so she has a lot of experience with international organisations. CHEN Mengyin, or Mandy, joined us in April 2019 as Northern Ireland Bureau Officer. Mengyin has an undergraduate degree in English and French and a postgraduate diploma in legal translation, followed by a one-year exchange student experience in Bordeaux, France. After graduation she worked two years as a mandarin teacher in Bangor, Wales and Belfast, where she first crossed path with NI Bureau working as a volunteer for the 3nd UK-China leader summit.
Originally from Dandong, a boarder city in Liaoning province, Mengyin knows Dongbei area well. This helps, with her experience living in Belfast, with the partner relationship between the two regions.
